Author Guidelines

Submission:

Full-text manuscripts should be submitted by one of the authors (considered as corresponding author) of the manuscript through the online submission system which can be accessed after registering as an author on this website. Only electronic files with .doc, .docx, and .pdf extension can be uploaded. Corresponding authors must fill all the necessary meta-data relevant to the submission. It is suggested that before starting the submission, authors must read carefully all the instruction and policies pertaining to the journal. It is assumed that by submitting the paper, authors agree with all the policies and guidelines of the journal.  

There is no page limit for the manuscript, however, it is generally 8 page for a research paper, and 12 page for a review paper.

Only electronic submissions are accepted to facilitate rapid publication and minimize administrative costs. Submissions by anyone other than one of the authors will not be accepted. The corresponding author takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review. It is also the responsibility of the corresponding author to keep informed other authors (co-authors) of the paper about the status of the paper from time-to-time.

Terms of Submission:

The paper must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis, or as preliminary version in the form of a conference paper) and are not currently under consideration by another conference / journal by any other publisher. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the article's publication has been approved by all the other co-authors of the paper. Further correspondence and proofs will be sent to the author(s) before publication unless otherwise indicated. It is a condition of submission of a paper that the authors permit editing of the paper for readability, and if needed for correct language also.

Peer Review:

All manuscripts are subjected to double-blind peer review and are expected to meet standards of academic excellence. Submissions will be considered by Editors if not rejected right away by the Chief Editor. Identities of peer-reviewers remain anonymous to the authors.

Preparing the Manuscript:

All submitted full-text articles should report original and previously unpublished research results either in the form of experimental or theoretical work and new case studies.

Language and Grammar: The language of the manuscript is English. Many a times it is observed that authors do not take adequate care of using proper grammar and overlook the linguistic flow of the paper. Majority of papers are rejected not only because of the poor technical content, but due to lack of proper presentation also. It is strongly suggested to authors that they must look into this aspect and prepare the manuscript error free as far as language is concerned. Poor grammatical representation clearly indicates immature paper writing skills. Writing a paper is an iterative task, precise use of words, presentation by self-explanatory figures, sound mathematical analysis of the concept, modelling and simulation studies, and validation of the concept by experimental results need through structuring of the paper. Initial submission must be prepared taking all such care for seamless review process and fast acceptance of the paper. Author should ask an English-speaking colleague to proofread your paper. Papers that fail to meet basic standards of literacy are likely to be unsubmitted by the Editorial Office.     

Units of Measurement: Units of measurement should be presented simply and concisely using System International (SI) units.

Abstract: The manuscript should contain an abstract. The abstract should be precise and self-explanatory and citation-free and should not exceed 150 words. Very careful wording should be used in the title and in the abstract. Without a proper title and abstract a great paper might never be found and read from the repositories. It should indicate the general scope and also state the main results obtained, methods used, the value of the work and the conclusions drawn. No figure numbers, table numbers, references or displayed mathematical expressions should be included.

Introduction: This section should be succinct, with no subheadings. A clear demarcation of the original contribution of the authors is to be spelled in this section of the paper, while referring and describing the work done by other also.

Acknowledgments: All acknowledgments (if any) should be included at the very end of the paper before the references and may include supporting grants, agencies supporting the research and so forth.

References: Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate. All references must be numbered consecutively and citations of references in text should be identified using numbers in square brackets (e.g., "as discussed by Smith [9]"; "as discussed elsewhere [9, 10]"). All references should be cited within the text otherwise, these references will be considered as redundant and may be removed from the manuscript. It is expected that a significant portion of references are to recently published papers. Please also ensure that you provide as much information as possible to allow the reader to locate the article concerned. This is particularly important for articles appearing in conferences, workshops and books that may not appear in journal databases. An average research paper should reference between 20 and 30 works, the bulk of which should be recently published (i.e. within the last 5 years) leading-edge articles in the field, preferably from top journals or conferences. You should compare your own findings to this recent research and demonstrate how your work improves on it in order to demonstrate that your work shows a significant advance over the state of the art - a pre-requisite for publication in NUJET.

Preparation of Figures: Each figure should be embedded in the electronic manuscript i.e., all figures should be cited in the paper in a consecutive order. Each figure is subject to resizing to fit into the column's width of or the full text width for consistency and clarity. The labels of the figures are also subject to resizing to be of minimum 9pt according to needs of Journal in-house specifications. Clarity of figures and completeness of figure captions is very important aspect of a good paper. Figures will be reproduced exactly as supplied, with no redrawing or relabelling. It is therefore imperative that the supplied figures are of the highest possible quality.

Preparation of Tables: Tables should be cited consecutively in the text. Every table must have a descriptive title (heading) and if numerical measurements are given, the units should be included in the column heading or at an appropriate place.

Equations: Equations are considered as not ornamental but essential components of the paper. Especially in the fields of engineering, equations are very essential for mathematical analysis and modelling of the systems. Equations to be numbered using round brackets, e.g., (1), and must be referred in the text. Size of variable and symbols in the equation to be followed as given in the templates of the paper.  When writing mathematics, avoid confusion between characters that could be mistaken for one another, e.g. the letter 'l' and the figure one. Equations should be capable of fitting into a two-column print format. Vectors and matrices should be in bold italic and variables in italic. If your paper contains superscripts or subscripts, take special care to ensure that the positioning of the characters is unambiguous. Exponential expressions should be written using superscript notation, i.e. 5x10³ not 5E03, here multiplication sign should be used, not a dot.

Authors' Biography: On acceptance of the manuscript for publication the corresponding author is required to submit a short biography not exceeding 100 words describing academic background, professional positions, research interest and academic/professional achievements and a portrait photograph of each author.

While submitting the initial manuscript, a care is to be taken by the authors that by any means their identity is not revealed in the paper (either by authors’ name and affiliation below title of the paper, or in acknowledgment, or in references, or in introduction, or elsewhere). Papers disclosing / revealing identity of author in any form will go straight “Reject”. Revealing author identity is a ground for rejection. Hence, please remove any trace that can identify author/s.

Therefore, it is required that along with the paper, the authors submit one more page separately which contains information of name, designation, affiliation, address, and e-mail ids of all the authors. The name of corresponding author should be clearly indicated in this page. The tile of the paper shall appear on the top of this additional page followed by the discipline of this Journal (one of the nine disciplines under the scope of this journal) in which author would like their paper to be considered and reviewed.        

Submission Template: Submissions prepared using LaTeX are preferred. But, submissions in .doc or .docx format are also accepted. Please use the templates provided on the IEEE site (Latex or Word) for the same. Authors are advised to strictly adhere to the template style while preparing the manuscript. Casual approach in the format of the paper may lead to straight “Reject”. Especially the care is to be taken for: font size and type of paper title, abstract, paragraph headings, sub-headings, figure captions, table headings, equations, referencing style, and completeness of the references.      

Proofs: Corrected proofs must be returned to the Chief Editor within 2-3 days of receipt. The Chief Editor will do everything possible to ensure prompt publication. It will therefore be appreciated if the manuscripts and figures conform to the style of the journal from first submission.

Names, trademarks, and so forth in this publication, even if not specifically identified, does not imply that these names are not protected by the relevant laws and regulations.
While the advice and information in this Journal are believed to be true and accurate, neither the Editors nor the publisher can accept any legal responsibility for any errors or omissions that may be made by authors in the paper.

Initial Manuscript format is the standard two-column IEEE format. Names of authors should be removed from the manuscripts for the review process in order to have a fair evaluation of their manuscript. Authors’ names and their contact information which are provided to the electronic system will not be visible to reviewers. Manuscripts submitted for consideration should be within the scope of NUJET and should report on new results and previously unpublished material. Authors should pay particular attention to documenting their work in relationship to the known literature.

If a significant portion of your manuscript was already published at a conference you must indicate it to Chief Editor as Post Conference Paper. The manuscript must include the previous work in the references section.

This policy doesn't consider surveys, state of the art papers or project reports. Only Guest Editors of a Special Section (or submissions allowed by the Editorial Board) are invited to submit such kind of manuscript. Our typical papers propose new methods and demonstrate their effectiveness through experimental results in combination with simulation results.

The file maximum size cannot exceed 40MB to make it accessible to our tools. Usually you will get that by adjusting the size of the figures.

Your paper should describe very clearly your accomplishments so other people can understand what is your original contribution and use it. Notice that usually your technical accomplishments will be evaluated based on the number of citations but not based on the number of papers published.

Write clearly your manuscript. Try to keep your manuscript on the proper level from one section to another. It should be easy to understand by well-qualified professionals, but at the same time please avoid describing well-known facts (use proper references instead). Often manuscripts receive negative reviews because reviewers are not able to understand the manuscript and this is authors' (not reviewers') fault. Notice, that if reviewers have difficulties, then other readers will face the same problem and there is no reason to publish the manuscript.

It is strongly suggested that authors must themselves do the similarity index check of their manuscript prior to its initial submissions for the Journal. The paper shall be properly modified to bring the similarity index below 20%. This will help saving time at both the sides and lead to fast review process.
